This IMPLAN V3 Workshop is designed for both first-time IMPLAN users as well as those well-versed in using IMPLAN V2. The workshop emphasizes using the new tools and procedures of IMPLAN V3 to evaluate the local economic impacts of projects. The fundamentals of IMPLAN's social accounting systems and the development of multiplier models of local economies are also included. In addition, a survey of common uses of IMPLAN by governments, academia and consultancies for issue and project analyses, enterprise-wide monitoring systems and program evaluations is provided. Presentations include slide shows, tutorials and case study examples, along with classroom lecture. Classroom time is spent using IMPLAN economic impact data and software as well as interpreting and understanding results. After the training the user should be able to perform economic impact studies with IMPLAN and understand the models results, as well as, be aware of potential issues that might arise.

Workshop Format: The workshop duration is two days, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM local time each day. Formal presentations usually conclude after lunch break of day 2 with the remainder of the afternoon for attention to individual studies, open discussion and questions. Attire is casual.

What’s Included: In addition to the lectures you will receive a training manual of tutorials, exercises and case studies, as well as an IMPLAN V3 Appliance with a single-user license. The Appliance includes the IMPLAN V3 software and training data files for the exercises. IMPLAN data (besides the training data) is NOT included and must be purchased separately.

Computers are NOT Provided: You must bring your own PC to the workshop in order to install and use IMPLAN V3. If you are unable to bring your own laptop, MIG can provide one for an additional fee if arrangements are made at least one week prior to the workshop.

IMPLAN V3 on Must be Installed on Your Computer: IMPLAN V3 is a software install for your PC, which requires appropriate Permissions. MIG requires that you have the software installed on your PC prior to entering the workshop.  Pre-installing the software before the workshop will allow more effective use of class time and assures each student will be able to use their own computer.  If you have any questions on how to install the IMPLAN software please give us a call at 651-439-4421.   MIG cannot be responsible for a user's inability to use the software during the workshop because the software has not been pre-installed on their computer.
