TOPIC: Industry Multipliers

Industry Multipliers 6 years, 1 month ago #1076

Please advise:

Our county is in the process of updating their comp plan figures. Previous years multipliers were from RIMs. I understand when asked for sector 358, employment and output multipliers that I run a report on each of those. But when asked for the overall industry multiplier am I running a Type I multiplier report or a Industry X Industry SAM report?

I checked the BEA website for \"overall industry multiplier\" and didn't find anything so I am going to guess at its meaning.

I take this to be the targeted industry's (sector 358) total multiplier. The \"Type SAM\" multiplier is similar to the BEA's Type II in that payroll is not a leakage, so you are looking for the Type SAM multiplier for industry 358 in the various multiplier reports.

If you want to see how this industry affects the other regional industries run a 1 million dollar impact on sector 358.
