WHO WE NEED
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Director of Strategy is a leadership role that serves as a strategic partner to the CEO and a multiplier for the executive team. You will be the connection between our long-term strategy and our day-to-day execution, ensuring alignment, driving accountability, and taking ownership of our most critical, cross-functional initiatives during a period of rapid growth and transformation.
This is a high-impact operational and strategic position for an individual who thrives on solving complex problems and getting things done. This role is ideal for an ambitious, early-career professional to get visibility and influence in executive-level discussions and decision-making.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Execution and Special Projects: Lead the operational and strategic integration of acquired companies (M&A) and drive other high-priority, cross-functional projects from kickoff to completion.
- Become a subject matter expert on IMPLAN Cloud and the analytical needs and challenges of customers
- Operational and Business Systems Leadership: Example projects will be to lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new core business systems, including the migration of our financial systems from QuickBooks to a scalable ERP platform (e.g., NetSuite, Sage Intacct).
- Artificial Intelligence Alignment: Ensure the organization’s AI strategy is fully integrated and each IMPLAN team member is positioned to leverage AI in meaningful and impactful ways.
- Business Intelligence and Analytics: Develop and analyze operational dashboards, conduct deep-dive analyses to inform strategic decisions like pricing changes, sales efficacy, etc., and administer customer surveys to distill actionable insights.
- Executive and Board Operations: Partner with the CEO, Vice President of Finance, and other members of the executive team to prepare materials for Board meetings and updates, and manage the executive team’s operating cadence (e.g., leadership meetings, strategic planning).
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of 2-5 years of professional experience in a highly analytical, strategic, and fast-paced environment.
- A proven track record of leading complex, cross-functional projects and delivering outstanding results in ambiguous situations.
- Exceptional quantitative, financial modeling, and data analysis skills. Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a high-growth environment, exhibiting a strong bias for action and a sense of urgency.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to synthesize complex information for executive and board-level consumption.
- High emotional intelligence, low ego, and a “get it done” mentality.
- Occasional travel is required.
DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Ideal backgrounds include management consulting, investment banking, FP&A, or corporate strategy within a scaled B2B technology company or similar industry.
- Willingness to learn CRM, ERP, and other business analytics systems.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative oriented major from a top-tier university is required. An MBA or other advanced degree is preferred.
